Current occupation: Just finished being a student, studying Computer Science at University of Cambridge
Some of my interests:
- Playing randomly with computer type stuff.
- Sound / video production work - live PA, recordings, college events and the like. I have also worked with Intec Services on several video projects, including the Pipeline rock instrumental magazine's annual convention, and most recently camera operation for a charity concert.
- Technical theatre - sound, lighting, and assorted random other stuff. Like playing with scaffold poles.
- A bit of electronics, normally audio related, when I get time
- Amateur radio, mainly when I'm not up here at uni. In particular, I'm a member of Medway Raynet.
- Flying HUGE great kites!
- Participating in the Assassins' Guild.
Employment / Projects:
- July - September 2005: Working at Chatham South School, Kent, assisting the ICT team in the installation of new computer equipment and recommisioning existing machines, as well as a complete redesign and implementation of the school website.
- October 2004 - October 2005: Webmaster for sections of the CUSU Ents (Cambridge University Student Union) website.
- October 2003 - Present: Assorted technical support, client network installation and maintainence, software development and staff training for Consultation Interventions Ltd and its clients.
- June 2004 - October 2004: Working for KiteDynamics Ltd, a power kite retailer based in London - responsible for large amount of the daily running of the shop and website updates.
- July 2003 - October 2003: Working for KiteDynamics Ltd.
Other (largely random) stuff:
- Web browser: Firefox
- Email client: Mozilla Thunderbird
- Development languages: Java (including JSP), PHP, and a bit of VB
- Desktop OS: Linux (currently Fedora Core 4) most of the time, except when I need to do some Windows development, in which case it's Windows 2000.
- Program used to create this website: gedit, aka "notepad" for Windows users...
- Favourite command-line text editor: vi! None of this emacs rubbish... ;-)
- Radio stations I listen to:
- Invicta FM (when the adverts don't annoy me)
- Radio 3 (when other stations' adverts do annoy me)
- Radio 4 (for such wonders as "Just a Minute", "The Now Show" and so on)
- Q103
- The Storm (when I can be bothered to connect up the Psion DAB receiver)
